Papaya contains the enzyme amylase, which breaks starches and carbohydrates into simple sugars, and protease, which breaks proteins into amino acids. These enzymes work in tandem to facilitate proper digestion and nutrient absorption, helping alleviate gastric stress in older horses and those with digestive issues.

3 Step Programme
Step 1 - Equine Exceed Gastro™ is the most concentrated formula in the gastric range, helping preserve & restore intestinal barrier function. Ideal for horses showing symptoms of gastric discomfort, changes in behaviour, moving yards, during grass changes, stressed horses and horses that travel & compete regularly.
Step 2 - Gastro Extend™ is a milder formula that can be used as a follow on from Gastro™ - Step 1. High in L-Arginine, Flax & L-Methionine. Flax is an excellent source of calories and fibre and is high in omega-3's.
Step 3 - SFM PRO™ & SFM PRO - Extra Calmer™ . Daily gut maintenance for the gastric system. Includes essential ingredients L-Arginine, vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Feeding Guidelines
Maintenance:
Under 500kg ¾ - 1 scoop per day
500 Kg – 600 kg 1 ½ - 1 ¾ scoop per day
600kg + 2 scoops per day
First 3 - 5 days feed twice daily
How much do I need for a month's supply?
Under 500kg – 30 scoops
500kg– 550kg – 45 scoops (30 + 15 scoop)
550kg+ - 60 scoops
Mix with feed.
1 serving = 18g (35ml Scoop)

Our mare has been taking Gastro Extend for a number of years now , having had ulcers we started her on step one and now use step 2 as our daily maintenance. Wow, what a fantastic selection! I was lucky enough to be a winner of Equine Exceed’s #winitwednesday competition and they sent me an amazing selection of goodies - thank you 🙏 I was offered my choice of supplement and I had no hesitation in requesting the Gastro Step 2 for my daughter’s show jumping mare, who was diagnosed with grade 4 ulcers ten months ago. After treatment she scoped clear but I really wanted to find a product that would keep her stomach happy. We started on Step 1 for about eight weeks and then moved onto Step 2. Our mare has been on this ever since, along side some slight management changes, and has remained happy and comfortable with no signs of ulcers, even after moving yards which I was concerned would upset her. Gastro Step 1 made a big difference to my mare, I kept her on it for a few months then moved her onto Step 2 and it’s kept her happy in her gut I think. As a TB living out 24/7 she’s quite exposed to constant changes in the weather and grass and this has helped keep her consistently happier the last couple of seasons.
I am halfway through the gastric health restoration package and I am very happy with the results. My mare has become much more settled, willing and relaxed significantly through her abdomen.
