ed.
Detoxing your horse can also help eliminate toxins from muscles and help reduce lactic acid due to work, stress and a suppressed immune system.
Ideal for use during grass & coat changes, after medication & worming.
Milk Thistle Powder
Its active compound, silymarin, has strong antioxidant liver cell protecting effects. It helps neutralize free radicals, reduce oxidative stress and supports the body’s natural regeneration of new liver cell growth.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a critical antioxidant which helps protect cells from everyday oxidative stress by neutralising free radicals in the body. Free radicals are unstable molecules produced in the body during exercise, illness or exposure to toxins. Vitamin E is fat soluble, helping protect muscle, nerve and liver cells.
Zeolite (Natural Clinoptilolite)
Zeolite is a microporous mineral that works to detoxify the horses major systems by helping to neutralise toxins and supports natural detoxification by binding to heavy metals to extract them from the body. By reducing the absorption of toxins, the liver, kidneys and immune cells are protected from oxidative stress.
Echinacea
An immune-supporting herb helping reduce oxidative stress and supporting immune cells, which helps the body manage metabolic byproducts and environmental toxins more efficiently.
FAQ’s
When is a good time to detox my horse?
Periods of coat changes (Spring & Autumn) demand a higher rate of nutrients which can increase oxidative stress.
Killing the parasites when using a horse wormer can release toxins into the bloodstream, increasing oxidative stress.
Certain medications can stress the liver. Speak with your vet if you at all concerned of the side effects of prescribed medication.
How long should my horse stay on a detox?
Dependant on your reasons for using a detox for your horse, the length of time can vary. If it’s after worming, a short-term course of 2 weeks should be sufficient. During coat changes feed for up to 6 weeks. If your horse has compromised liver function, seek advice from your vet.
Should I split the daily amount over two feeds?
It is recommended that your horse has its maintenance amount in one feed, so for a 500kg horse, you need to use 1 scoop into one feed and for a 600kg horse, 2 scoops into one feed. Do not split the maintenance dose into two feeds. 2 scoops per day = 2 scoops in one feed.
For loading doses (the first 3-5 days of feeding), you need to use the required dosage into two separate feeds (morning & evening).
I’m not sure my horse will eat it?
Palatability samples are available on our website, so that you can ensure your horse is happy to eat it.
